Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. She co-founded The Corcoran Group, a real estate brokerage located in New York City, which she sold to NRT for $66 million in 2001, and shortly thereafter , the company was sold. Corcoran was one of ABC's first Shark investors, has been a part of each episode of Shark Tank. Since February of 2020, she's signed 53 deals with the show, the largest one being $350,000 in 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children in a Catholic Irish working class family. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was a mover from one job to the next during Corcoran's early years. Her family depended sometimes on food deliveries from the local grocer who would deliver free food. Corcoran claims her father was drunk who treated her mother with disrespectful and condescension. Corcoran struggled through her schooling and later discovered that she was dyslexic. Corcoran entered high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her time at a Catholic primary school. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a degree in English after not completing several classes in her first year.
